Making Sense of Credit Card Offers
might have wondered which cards really offered good deals.
Credit cards can be helpful budgeting tools, or sinkholes of
debt. The difference is in the details: some cards have high
rates and fees that make it difficult to keep your debt in
check. Take a moment to compare credit cards before you decide
to carry one in your wallet.
Credit card offers list the terms and conditions of various
cards. When you compare credit cards, look at the interest rate,
also known as the APR. It might be listed as 0%. If so, you can
bet that it will be much higher in six months to a year. 0%
interest cards have introductory phases. After that phase has
ended, they are subject to regular interest rates. Most cards
offer 12-24% interest rates. The lower the rate, the faster
you'll be able to pay off your debt.
Also make note of the type of interest rates on your credit
card offers. Some rates might be "fixed", and some might be
"variable". Choose fixed-rate interest whenever possible.
Variable interest rates can change with little warning from the
card issuer. If you do choose a credit card with a variable
interest rate, make sure you know when and how much that rate
can change.
When you compare credit cards, you'll notice that some of them
come with quite a lot of fees. There can be application fees,
processing fees, annual fees, late fees, and fees for going over
your credit limit. Fees can also apply when you close your
account or make a balance transfer to another card. The credit
card industry is competitive, so don't waste your time on credit
card offers that indicate exorbitant fees.
Your next step when you compare credit cards is to look at the
credit limit each one is willing to give you. Some might offer
low limits, while others might offer you thousands of dollars.
Higher credit limits can improve your credit score, but they can
also tempt you to spend money on things you can't really afford.
Always check the small print on credit card offers. Companies
should tell you their policies regarding interest-free grace
periods, late payments, and how you will be informed if changes
are made to the terms of your contract. If you have questions
about specific policies, call the card's customer service
division and ask to speak with a representative. Most card
companies are only required to give 14 days' written notice when
making changes to your account. There is pending legislation
that seeks to compel card issuers to give more notice before
such changes are made.
Don't just accept the first credit card offers that come along.
Take the time to compare credit cards. They can be great for
building up your credit, but they can also leave you with a heap
of debt if you don't use them wisely. Look for good deals with
low fees and interest rates. The research you do in the
beginning can save you a lot of financial heartache down the
road.

How Can You Benefit from Blogging?
If you are already maintaining a web site, having a blog can add to, or enhance, your existing web presence. The ability to provide your customers, and readers, with fresh content on a daily, or weekly basis can keep your business running even during lean months. Blogging is also a great way for small business owners, with little web design knowledge, and small budgets to establish a professional, attractive, web presence. Many designers charge much less for a completely customized blog design and installation than they would charge for complete, traditional, html or flash website design.
When blogging first began becoming popular among businesses I was slow to notice the change. It seemed to me as though more and more of my competitors were shutting down their traditional websites and replacing them with well designed blogs. Other competitors kept their existing websites up, but added links to their websites that sent surfers to there companies newly created blogs. I decided to start learning more about blogging, but I didn’t want to change my entire website format until I was sure blogging was right for me and my business.
I played around with a few different blogging platforms on a personal level trying to find out what all the fuss was about. I set up a small personal blog on Blogger and later a weight loss blog on Typepad. After trying out all of the major blogging platforms I realized that using a blog platform to power my site rather than the current html design could do wonders for my business. In addition to being able to make my blogs look, and feel, professional with little design knowledge, I was also able to easily add photo and text content to these personal blogs with no assistance. This was something I would never have been able to manage on my traditional site.
While any of these discovers would have inspired me to turn my existing site into a blog, the deciding factor for me was a confrontation with my website designer. I needed my site updated to promote an upcoming concert my business was affiliated with but the designer would not be available to complete the update until after the concert was over. I immediately began researching how to create my own blog on my own domain so that I would no longer be dependent on a web designer.
Being able to take charge of how, and when, information was posted on my new blog site immediately increased my sales, site traffic, and general interest in my domain. Clients no longer felt that the site would always contain the same, stale information. They knew that in order to catch my latest promotions they would have to subscribe to my blog or bookmark my site to return to it often in order to avoid missing anything important.
I invested a great deal of time in setting up my initial blog posts and interacting with my clients. In many cases my posts for the entire week were prepared by Monday and published on the blog at set intervals throughout the week. Each and every time someone commented on a blog post I did my best to respond to, or acknowledge these comments. Even if it was just to say ‘thank you for commenting’.
Allowing users to comment on your blog posts can increase your companies business and reputation tremendously. Many prospective clients make their decision to buy a product or use a service based solely on testimonials and reviews left by other customers. Since comments often offer feedback on your products and services, they can sometimes be more affective than the most expensive, well thought out, advertising campaigns.
These comments can also serve as an unofficial Frequently Asked Questions section. Often surfers are more likely to read the comments on posts that relate to a question or problem they may be experiencing than they are to visit your sites FAQ. By making it possible for clients to post comments publicly, and answering comments publicly, you might keep someone else from asking the same question. This will cut down on the amount of emails you have to answer and phone calls you might otherwise receive.
Also, answering these comments and communicating with the comment makers (saying thank you) shows readers and clients how you and your company treat customers.
I can not tell you how many times a client, or potential client, has posted a comment to one of my blogs telling me that they found an answer to a question they were planning to ask by reading comments left by other users. On a few occasions, clients of competitors have left comments saying that they were searching on the internet for a resolution to their own issue with another site, and found the answer thanks to my blog. This is extremely gratifying and tells me that my blog is providing more information than those of my competitors.
Please keep in mind that if you are allowing readers to comment on blog posts you need to take steps to monitor the content of these posts. While there is software available to help prevent comment spam there are always times when some spam will slip through the cracks. Manually monitoring comments will avoid embarrassing situations of inappropriate comments being published on your blogs.
If you are someone that has an existing site, establishing and maintaining a blog is going to drastically increase your traffic to that site. Many blog readers are attracted to a blog site by one, or more, posts on a specific subject. Once the reader is at that blog post they will more than likely explore other products and services they might not have otherwise shown an interest in. If there is a link to your previously established traditional site in your blog, chances are readers will visit that site as well which increases its traffic.
This also creates an opportunity for free publicity and advertising. Many blog readers are often trying to find news and content for their own blog site. Your existing traditional site might be just what they were looking for. There have been many times when I have been checking my backlinks and found out that the blog of one of my readers, or past clients, has a link to my blog promoting a certain interesting post or product.
Even if you do not have a specific product to sell, or message to spread, it doesn’t mean that you can’t earn revenue from blogging. Many profitable blog owners are those who started their blogs to use as a personal diary and began doing little things to earn income. First adding ads to the blog and then doing other things to capitalize on traffic and make a profit.
Making Network Marketing a Habit
develop. Not only do you have to develop certain habits, you
have to make network marketing a habit. Just as bad habits can
constantly prevent you from doing things that are critically
important, good habits can force you to do the exact opposite.
But in order to have these habits and to employ them
successfully, you first must spend the time to develop them.
Superb Salesmanship
One of the most important habits you must develop is great
salesmanship. No matter how good your product is, no one is
going to want to sell it if you can't convince them to do so.
The greater part of doing this is learning the art of
salesmanship.
So what does sales entail? Primarily, salesmanship entails
being able to communicate everything clearly and concisely.
While there are a number of important devices you can use as a
salesperson, none is as important as being able to clearly
explain what it is that you want your target audience to
understand.
This will be important in two instances the first is
convincing customers that your product is worth buying. In order
to do this, you will have to clearly connect the product as a
solution to a problem they have.
You will also have to clearly communicate the benefits and
explain why it is different or better than similar products.
Now, in the second instance, you must "sell" the opportunity to
all of the members of your network. I personally suggest you do
this in an honest and ethical way.
If they can't realistically earn $30,000/year the first year in
your program, then do not tell them that. Rather, tell them what
people actually have made and what was required. It is always
important to clearly communicate to new network members.
Explain to them what it is that they are doing exactly and how
you would suggest that they could best get it done. Above all,
remember to employ salesmanship often and to develop it as a
habit, not just a skill.
Helping Other People
Another habit you'll have to pickup is to like to help others,
even before you attempt to help yourself. This sounds counter
intuitive, especially if your goal is simply to make money at
any cost however, as almost all network marketers learn, helping
others and helping yourself often means the exact same thing.
The reason why this is so true with network marketing is
because the best way to earn is to get others to do the work for
you to gain leverage. Without gaining leverage, your best hope
is to simply sell the product yourself through some type of
direct marketing scheme.
Now, if you want to gain leverage, you have to find ways to
teach others to do what you presumably know how to do yourself
which is to find prospects, introduce them to the product, and
then close sales. Conversely, if you are shooting for a network
perpetuation model, you will want to be able to show people how
they can recruit people just like you.
With this being said, there is a significant difference between
knowing and doing. You might know how to teach people this
process, but if you are unwilling to actually do so, the skill
is useless.
So make a habit of helping others especially those in your
network. Whenever someone sends you an email, make your best
attempt to respond to it quickly and comprehensively.
Even if the person himself is unlikely to earn you any money,
your simple act of kindness could stir him to spread the word
about your network to his friends.
Additionally, remember that helping others is only one part of
the equation the other is making sure you do it correctly.
If you can't come up with a workable model for people to
replicate your success, then you may not want to begin building
a network rather, you might want to stick to direct sales.
Where the Money is Online...And One Secret That Can Make You Millions...
That my friends, is an age-old question.
But I have an answer…you might not like it if you sell "make
money online" products to internet marketers. But first, I am
going to pose a question about those that claim to be online
marketers, but who keep buying ebook after ebook (or course
after course, whatever it is) about making money online…
Are you really an internet marketer, if you keep trying to find
the "secrets" of making money online?
I mean it, answer that question for yourself. This is today's
"look in the mirror." But, really put some thought into
that…here's why:
The exact definition of the word marketer is " One that sells
goods or services in or to a market, especially one that markets
a specified commodity."
Now, if you read the definition above, do you see any word or
implication at all of "one that buys any collection of
incestuous recycled marketing tactics from other marketers" in
that definition?
Educating yourself is important, and I do firmly believe in it,
so with that in mind I have another question for you to think
about today…
Shouldn't your eduction center around a firm understanding of
marketing, copywriting, and learning how to properly operate and
grow a business?
Those "My System Will Show You How To Make $34,237 In 60 Days"
courses are not going to help you in any of those three
areas…period. Also, there is no secret to making money online,
you simply have to have a firm understanding of marketing,
copywriting, and how to operate and grow a business in order to
start.
If you got into internet marketing thinking it is a "make a ton
of money fast" opportunity…save your money and time, and stop
now. It isn't. There are ways to make money using the internet
that are fairly fast, a la Ebay, Google Adsense, promotion of
Clickbank products etc…but those are short lived…and guess what?
Everyone else is doing it too!
With Ebay, you can sell your old stuff…but what happens when
you run out of old stuff? Go to garage sales? Pick up other's
junk and sell it on Ebay? Possibly, but that all works better
with a solid plan and the determination and drive to actually
build a business doing it.
Take it from someone (me) who has spent thousands upon
thousands of dollars on business opportunities and systems
online. There are no shortcuts.
Ok, enough of your look in the mirror, it's time to answer the
two questions:
1) Where is the money online?
If you have ever seen the movie "City Slickers", Jack Palance
keeps mentioning "one thing, just one thing"…as the secret to
life. Well, the same applies to "where the money is"…
"It's in one place, just one place…", and just like Jack said
in City Slickers, "it's something different for everybody, you
have to figure it out for yourself."
In other words, you have to find a market that needs what you
are enthusiastically going to deliver in your internet business.
This is key, and it is different for everyone. I can tell you
that the baseball card niche can be very profitable, because I
am passionate about it…but that doesn't mean that you will have
the interest, experience, passion, and knowledge to build a
business within that same niche.
You have to find out for yourself which niche you are
passionate about that has a hungry market to serve…and where
money is being spent.
On to question number 2…
2) What is one secret to internet marketing that can make you
millions?
While individual secrets alone will not make you millions…this
one will certainly give you a head start.
Many people view "Internet Marketing" as a business in and of
itself. It isn't, and that mentality will cost you thousands of
dollars.
Here is the secret:
The internet is only a delivery device. It is the media form
through which you deliver a product, produce your marketing
messages, write and deliver articles, etc…
The internet is not your business itself. You can combine the
internet with offline direct mail, newspaper classified
advertising, yellow page ads (in some niches), and other forms
of media to build your entire business around.
Who says you cannot sell an ebook offline? There are no rules
that you have to follow. Free your mind…and quit limiting
yourself.
You might be saying to yourself, "Dagnabbit Joe, I have heard
this all before…these aren't secrets."
Well, are you practicing them right now? Come on, be honest
with yourself. Does your business truly know no boundaries? Are
you building and marketing your business, or wasting your money
looking for the "next big secret"?
There is a reason 90% of all small businesses fail within 5
years…perhaps a solid understanding of business and marketing
before actually starting a business is a contributing factor? :)
Take it from someone who tends to learn things "the hard way"
(me), you need to really sit down and self-analyze, and decide
if you are in this for the money…or in it to win it.
How Wine Helps Your Health
wine being good for one thing or another, or how alcohol
consumption is good in moderation. You may also hear that it is
bad altogether. It's hard to keep the information straight and
even know what to believe sometimes. Yet, despite all the
different things you hear that conflict with one another, one
thing to remember is that many doctors recommend that you drink
a glass of wine a day, especially red wine.
Studies show that red wine is effective in helping lower your
bad cholesterol and raising your good cholesterol. Most of these
scientific studies reveal that while white wine may help a
little with cholesterol problems, it is the red wines and the
ingredients from the skin of the grapes that help the most.
Cholesterol has a direct impact on your heart's functioning
because as it builds up in the arteries of your heart, it makes
it difficult for the heart to pump blood. Therefore, because red
wine helps reduce cholesterol, it also helps your heart.
Wine has been known to also have a positive effect on certain
cancers, especially red wine. Once again red wine wins out over
white! Certain antioxidants in the skins and seeds of the grape,
which are used in the making of red wine, as well as other
chemicals in the wine, may give you some amount of protection
against the development and progression of some cancers.
It has been shown that people who drink no alcohol have less
brainpower than those who drink wine moderately. This was shown
in a study done on women over 70. There is also one quarter less
mental decline in those who enjoy wine than in those who avoid
it. So to keep sharp as you age, many experts recommend a glass
of wine a day.
If you are looking to reduce the amount of fat you use in
cooking, wine may be a good substitute for cooking oil. Wine can
be used as a cooking liquid in roasting, slow cooking and more.
It also makes a flavorful addition to sauces and many other
types of dishes. Adding wine intensifies the taste of food with
adding extra fat, which is certainly bad for your health.
There are many other health issues that may be helped through
the moderate drinking of wine. These include:
gall stones
blood clotting
kidney stones
bone density
high blood pressure
The key to using wine to help your health is to drink it in
moderation. Every study that links wine and good health makes a
strong point of mentioning that you should only drink between 1
and 3 glasses of wine a day. Some recommendations are on the
higher end, while others are on the lower end.
Some top tips for health include:
maintain a reasonable weight
get exercise
keep stress under control
eat a balanced diet
drink wine in moderation
By following these tips you will likely live a long, happy and
fun life. Cheers!

symptoms such as shortness of breath along with feelings of
doom. You can experience anxiety when your body reacts to
signals it thinks are threats. Your heart rate goes up and you
start to sweat.
Other causes of anxiety can be classified as phobias, such as
fear of flying or fear of heights. Herbs can be an easy way to
help ease anxiety naturally. If you are taking anti-depressant
drugs, however, do not try to substitute herbal remedies. Talk
to your doctor before taking herbal remedies.
When treating anxiety, start with the mildest remedy in the
mildest dosage and go from there. Many of the herbs used to
treat anxiety are safely compatible.
Oats
Oat seeds are calming and soothing and are helpful for those
suffering from daily stress or who feels frayed. Tea is the
common method of taking oats. Steep 1 to 2 tablespoons of seeds
in a cup of hot water for ten minutes. You can drink a cup of
tea every two hours as needed. Tincture is also available and
you can take up to 3 teaspoons every two hours. Oats are also
available as capsules.
Chamomile
Used often as tea, chamomile has a very soothing and calming
effect on you. It helps relax the muscles and also helps ease a
tense stomach. Drink one cup of tea every two hours or up to 3
teaspoons of tincture every two hours. Chamomile is readily
available as tea at most supermarkets, but it's a good idea to
keep some on hand.
Linden
Linden gently relaxes and eases muscle tension, and is also
used as a remedy for high blood pressure. Linden also makes a
good all-around remedy for helping keep the cardiovascular
system functioning well. It is most often used in tea, and you
should drink one cup of tea every two hours as needed. Tincture
is also available as well as capsules.
Vervain
Vervain is an herb that soothes and calms the nervous system as
well as helps with depression. Often found as a tea, drink one
cup of tea every two hours. It is also available as a tincture
and in capsules.
Motherwort
This old-time remedy is useful for the cardiovascular system in
general. It can help calm nerves and aids in soothing anxiety
that can cause a rapid heart rate. Drink one cup of Motherwort
tea every two hours. It is also available as a tincture and as
capsules. Consult your doctor before taking Motherwort if you
are currently taking any cardiac drugs.
Lavender
Lavender is relaxing and uplifting. It is fragrant and offers
relief for anxiety and depression. Lavender essential oil is
used diluted in bath water or can be inhaled. To use in a bath,
add 10 to 12 drops to a full tub. You can also dilute it with
oil to use as massage oil. It should not be taken internally.
St. John's Wort
Commonly used to treat depression, St. John's Wort is an
overall health booster that helps the nervous system. As a
tonic, take up to 3 teaspoons every two hours. It is also
available in capsule form.
Skullcap
Used for anxiety and hormonal mood swings, skullcap is relaxing
to the nervous system. It can be taken as a tea, a tincture or
in capsule form. To make tea, steep one or two teaspoons of
dried herbs in a cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Drink one cup
of hot tea every two hours as needed.
Kava-Kava
This is an anti-anxiety herb that originated in the South
Pacific islands. It works similarly to Valium, working with the
part of the brain that controls the nervous system and emotions.
It does not cause addiction nor does the body build up a
tolerance to it. It also doesn't impair thinking the way drugs
may. In fact, in studies it was shown to improve brain function
and memory. It is a good solution to treat anxiety on a
short-term basis. The standard form is in capsules. Do not take
with alcohol.
Valerian
Valerian is considered a strong anti-anxiety herb. Similar to
Valium, it works with the central nervous system; however it
does not cause dependence. It is also used to improve sleep as
well as a muscle relaxant. It is taken in capsule form. Note – a
small percentage of users indicate an increase in anxiety when
taking this herb. If that happens, discontinue use.
Passionflower
Passionflower is a strong herb used primarily for calming and
treating insomnia. It can also be used to help calm daytime
anxiety. It is most commonly used as a tea. To make the tea,
steep one to two teaspoons of dried herbs in a cup of hot water
for 10 minutes. Drink one cup every two hours.
Siberian Ginseng
This herb helps restore adrenal glands that are overstressed.
It is a good choice for those who are chronically overstressed,
and is taken as a tonic. It has a cumulative effect, meaning
that it may take several weeks or even months to see results
from taking the tonic.

Treating Vascular & Pigmented Birthmarks
pigmented skin conditions. The prevalence of these conditions is
available during early stages in life. These marks may be
countenanced all over the human body. These terms can also
involve some conditions called as post-wine stains which give an
indication of red vascular birthmarks as well as other colors.
They may also compose of melanin which is a skin pigment.
Till the last ten years important treatments were not to be
seen but recently advancements have been observed to be made in
this regard. These have been rendered possible by way of lasers
for which physicians leverage technology for utilization of
removal or improvement of these birthmarks.
These lasers have a tendency to target abnormal vessels or
pigment cells. All birthmarks can be lightened by the use of
lasers which will have the effect of simply erasing them in
entirety. Of course, these have chances of recurrence at some
stage or the other.
The dimensions of the treatment may vary with the size of the
birthmark. A small mark may be pursued by a few minutes of laser
treatment but, bigger marks may require time consuming
treatments. So much so, that multiple treatments may also have
to be undergone for curing these syndromes.
Some stains can be taken care of by treatment during the few
weeks of life with proper emission of laser responding to the
treatment. These treatments can be prolonged throughout the life
of the person without fail. The other marks may also be treated
accordingly. The treatments can vary from time to time depending
on the longevity as well as dimensions of the marks which
undergo treatment. The laser treatment is very effective
throughout the life of a person.
These treatments are not considered to be major surgeries. Some
discomfort is witnessed during the earlier stages of treatment.
Presently new contact cooling devices as well as stronger ones
which involve themselves in spraying cold liquid on to the skin
which is important for cooling down effect on this hot
treatment. Some discomfort occurs initially but later on it gets
under control.
No period of recuperation is suggested for removal of vascular
and pigmented birthmarks. These marks are important for the
purposes of combating their removals by way of a systematic
treatment. You should be careful about oozing of blood and such
circumstances. Some patients experience pain or minor discomfort
during the course of and after the treatment.
Recurrence of port-wine-stains is very rare. About half of
other birthmarks may surface again but, you should concentrate
on targeting them with the process of erasing them with
perfection. The reappearance of melanin is being targeted
continuously. Melanin is not deeply embedded within the
epidermis and is not affected but, may come for appearance later
which may have to be combated by an effective application of
laser treatment.
Thus, these birthmarks can be targeted for the purposes of
proper erasing by application of liquid as a cooling down device
as well as the ongoing laser treatment and application which
should be controlling the reappearance of these marks.

Do existing businesses need money?
Is this a time to start a business? Maybe.
In either case, the business plan you write today will be
different than the one you wrote five years ago. Five years ago
money was available. It is still there, but it is a lot harder
to find, and to tie down. Here are the five keys to getting
funding now:
1. Take it as far as you can yourself
Whether your business is is brick and mortar, or online, do as
much as you can yourself. Bootstrapping is IN style, if indeed
it ever went out of style. Getting funding to "expand" is always
easier than getting funding to "start".
Yes, this means more extensive planning and researching than
you may have done previously.
Yes, this means developing prototypes and test marketing before
spending millions on a project.
Yes, this means actually beginning the business if you can.
Most businesses can start early. Most businesses can begin as an
online business, a very inexpensive alternative to a brick and
mortar business. A beauty salon would have a hard time, but a
professional speaker, credit repair, and dozens of other
businesses are naturals for online businesses. Even the beauty
salon can begin online if it will have some unique products to
sell. One lady I know began her business online, making custom
mineral makeup. It was so successful that she never opened the
boutique business she had planned. Now she fills orders from
around the world every day. She discovered, too, that she didn't
even need a business plan – she had all the money she needed.
2. Be THE pro in the business
Nobody wants to finance your on the job training. Prove up
front in your business plan that you've got industry experience
and management success behind you. The "wanna be's" are in for a
rude awakening over the next few years.
Your business plan needs to tell the tales of your successes.
Lists of "accomplishments" can get pretty boring. Translate
those into real vignettes and it is a slam dunk. Don't have the
success stories to tell yet? Well, get them. Don't expect
funding until you've got the tales to tell.
3. Be The Dreamer
Capture your lender with your enthusiasm and sincerity. Swallow
whatever fear and misgiving you may have, and march up to the
lender, stick out your hand and say, "I'm Josephine Martinez,
the entrepreneur down the street." It doesn't matter if that
business isn't open yet, you are still "the entrepreneur down
the street".
There is just something catchy about someone with such
unbridled enthusiasm, especially in tough economic times. Your
lender will want to capture your energy, and just may want to
keep you around.
4. Be The Realist
Recognize that some businesses will be easier to fund than
others. Repair businesses, credit businesses, low cost
businesses will all be better off than a custom tailoring shop.
Highly capitalized businesses like restaurants, construction
and resorts have a tough time presenting successful business
plans in tough times. The tougher your business is to fund, the
more important it is to do your homework. Don't wait for your
lender to tell you to do it, or even to vaguely ask for it.
March in with your stats in your hand. It is the only way.
5. Go For It
This is the most important step. Lots of folks are sitting in
the wings, waiting for the economy to change. Well, it is not
going to change soon.
The US economy, and the world economy, are in the wringer like
they haven't been for half a century or more. Because of that,
everyone assumes there is no money to be had. Well, it just
ain't so. There is money there, but few people know where to put
their money so that it is both safe and making money. Your job
is to prove that your business is the answer.
And there IS money out there. Lots of it. Honest. Go for it.
Now.

Don't Stop! Stay Motivated!
That's when you have no problem being able to start something,
but for one reason or another, finishing it is a problem.
The lack of a follow through can really set you back further
and cause others around you to perceive that you don't care
enough or don't have the drive to get things done. Usually it's
not that you don't care, chances are, you just can't keep
yourself motivated to see it to the end of the project. If this
is the way you are, you can change the way you approach things.
You can learn how to stay motivated, which will allow you to
lead a much more productive life and the people that work with
you or around you will be a lot more satisfied with your
contributions, as well! You can learn how to stay motivated with
the help of motivational affirmations.
You have probably seen motivational affirmations before without
knowing it. Little affirmations show up in a lot of places such
as websites, calendars, planners, and even on computer desktops.
These phrases are meaningless though, until you apply them to
your life and make them your own personal motivational
affirmations. Free positive affirmations are simple, yet
powerful and when you make them a part of your life you really
can change it for the better. Being more motivated will make you
more productive, a better friend, a better spouse, and
definitely a more productive worker!
Motivational Affirmations: Focus on the Here and Now!
Motivational affirmations can be anything that keeps you going.
A lot of people use Proverbs such as "Where there is a will
there is a way" to keep them moving forward through those tough
situations where you might have otherwise given up and just left
a project have finished. But of course, the greatest
motivational affirmation is the one that is in first person in
the present tense. Remember, the affirmation is about you, not
someone else! And we're talking about the here-and-now, the past
is history and the future has yet to come.
For example, you might say to yourself: "I am resourceful. I
enjoy the challenge of getting things done and I follow
through!" There are a number of great motivational affirmations
that you can choose from and you may find that you want to
change it up to keep the idea behind the motivational
affirmations fresh in your mind so you can continue to benefit
from them. Other people find one or two free positive
affirmations that really speak to them that they use day in and
day out for years.
When you use motivational affirmations you truly can change
your life. When you are able to push through situations and get
things done you will reap the rewards of great success. Whether
you are painting a room, quilting, completing a task at work, or
planning something with friends when you use positive
affirmations, motivation won't be an issue anymore. You will be
able to get things done that you may not have been able to
complete before, and you'll be able to get them done with a lot
more gusto. Imagine how good it will feel to know that you will
be able to finish everything you start, and imagine how pleased
those around you will be, too!
There are simply so many benefits to using motivational
affirmations that you simply have to personally experience in
order to believe! If a lack of motivation has been haunting you
for days, weeks, months, or years don't simply settle for a life
without motivation, change it with the help of motivational
affirmations!

Marketing Your Retail Store in the Recession - A Retailer's Survival Guide
economy is in a recession. They actively promote how bad times
are, which only makes it worse for the retailer. As the general
public become "convinced" that times are so bad, their impetus
to shop is lessened.
As such, in times like these, retailers must work hard to get
their marketing in place. Now, more than ever, marketing budgets
need to be optimized, and in many cases increased, to stimulate
the demand for products that get consumers out of their house
and into the store.
Below is a "top ten" list of marketing activities that can be
applied to any retail business, to ensure its success in these
times.
1. Email Marketing – Don't use your own emails, market via a
service. Make sure you can measure the stats of the campaign so
that you can see what does and doesn't work.
2. "Meaningful" Events – Survey your customers to find out what
would bring them into the store, and then get your vendors to
cover the costs. Not every trunk show will bring out your big
spenders. Find out what will.
3. Better-than- average Website – Shoppers want to see what they
could see if they were in your store, without having to spend
money on gas. Make sure your website reflects your best side,
and shows significant amounts of merchandise. Even if you don't
have an e-commerce site, you have to show your products.
4. Direct Mail – it still works. Make sure the artwork matches
your website and emails. Try mailing gift cards, especially as
the holidays get closer.
5. Get on the Phone – call your customers as goods arrive.
Never think of it as selling them. Think of it as doing them a
favor – as if you were calling your best friend because you saw
something they'd like. Develop the relationship!
6. Press Releases – find a newsworthy event, and broadcast it.
Come up with reasons such as exclusives with vendors,
anniversaries, special sale events (tie it to the Meaningful
Events in #2) and announce it to the free PR sites on the
internet.
7. Article Marketing – article directories exist on the
internet, and they are dying to get your content! Write articles
that contain the information an informed consumer would have,
when buying your products. These lead people to your website,
and to your store.
8. Pay Per Click – Despite what you've heard, it is possible to
make money here. But you have to know the ropes. Study it or
find someone who knows it. Do small tests, and when the
campaigns work, feed them.
9. Blogging and Social Networking – this is an up-and-coming
method of marketing. Some of our customers swear by it. Get a My
Space page and test it. Get one of your staff to maintain it.
Test the results.
10. Marketing Plan – if you do any of the above things, just
one time, you're guaranteed to have spent money and not gain
customers. The secret to successful marketing is "consistent
repetition across all activities."
By applying these simple techniques (along with having a
completely balanced inventory), retailers can weather the storms
of the recession, and come out of it in better condition than
when they started.
